Sharing Scripture
Sharing the Word of God is a powerful way to evangelise and share the good news of the Gospel. Here are some ways you can do it:
Use personal testimony: Share your own personal experience of reading the Bible or praying Lectio Divina and how it has impacted your life. If appropriate, share the specific Scripture and your personal reflections.
Share the Gospel message: Share the basic message of the Gospel, emphasising the love and mercy of God. Use Scripture to illustrate the message, such as John 3:16 or Romans 5:8.
Use apologetics (a reasoned defence of the faith): Use Scripture to answer questions and objections to the Catholic faith, such as the authority of the Church or the role of Our Lady. Be respectful to the person's perspective.
Share examples of Biblical devotional practices: Share that God speaks directly to his people through Scripture. Share about Bible Study or other devotional practices such as Lectio Divina, The Divine Office, or the Ignatian Examen. Encourage them to engage with Scripture in a personal way.
Use social media: Share Scripture or devotional content on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Engage in conversation with non-Catholic friends who respond to your posts, using Scripture to support your message..
