Evangelisation is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity, She exists in order to evangelise
Proclaiming the Good News
What is Evangelisation?
Evangelisation means to fulfill the mandate of Jesus Christ to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), so that all might respond to the Father’s love and be saved through communion with Jesus and His body, the Church. At the core of evangelisation is “the proclamation of Christ and his Gospel by word and the testimony of life,” which invites conversion, evidenced through faith in Christ, repentance, and full communion with the Catholic Church.
How is it served?
In the Archdiocese of Southwark various initiatives have been promoted and diocesan-wide conferences have been held in recent years. Also present in the diocese are a number of missionary endeavours and apostolates which the Agency will seek to support and promote.
So much good work is undertaken in the parishes and we are keen to support such work at every stage. The Evangelisation advisor is always willing to come to speak to parish groups on the topic of evangelization and provide practical advice.
