Sacramental Guidelines
Review & Revise 2025-6
The Archbishop has asked the Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis to review the sacramental guidelines currently established in our archdiocese. Any new guidelines will undergo a process of comment and approval with different groups, and will take into account current practice and insights from the latest teaching documents from the Church.
Current Guidelines (2009)
Becoming More Like Christ, the current set of diocesan guidelines for sacramental preparation and catechesis, were published in 2009 (based on previous guidelines issued in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 2001). These were initially made available to every parish in hard copy and subsequently have been downloadable from the Centre for Catholic Formation and Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis websites.
