We Dare to Ask is the third booklet in the We Dare to series (after: 2024 - We Dare to Say on the Lord’s Prayer; 2025 - We Dare to Hope on the jubilee year theme of pilgrims of hope). This booklet seeks to encourage an appreciation of what is given in Christian Baptism. God desires what is best for each of us while respecting our freedom to choose. To express our acceptance of the wonderful gift that God’s offers us, with open hearts and a willingness to change for the better, all we need to do is ask.

Written by members of the Baptism Collaborative and produced by the Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis, this resource is primarily for groups but can successfully and faithfully be used for individual reflection. The sessions explore the following themes through Scripture, prayer, art and reflections:

  1. CREATED IN LOVE, MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE

  2. LOVE REJECTED, THE MERCY OF THE FATHER

  3. JESUS, THE BRIDGE OF MERCY

  4. GUIDED BY THE SPIRIT

  5. CHOOSING A LIFE IN CHRIST

About the Baptism Collaborative

The Baptism Collaborative is a group of catechists and religious, from across England and Wales, who share a common passion to see the Sacrament of Baptism recognised as a key moment in our lives. The Church describes Baptism as the most beautiful and precious gift of God, ‘the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit; the door which gives access to the other sacraments’ (CCC 1213). It is the starting point for a life of holiness and mission.
