On Sunday 28 September, Ingrid La Trobe the Archdiocese of Southwark’s Catechesis Advisor was one of 39 from 16 countries (from Korea to Mexico, from Tanzania to the Philippines) to be instituted as Catechists by Pope Leo XIV during the Jubilee for Catechists. In doing so, Ingrid was the first from England and Wales to become an instituted catechist.

The Bishops of England and Wales are exploring the formation, training and processes for discernment for others to receive the Ministry of Catechist. We will share more on this as soon as we know and look forward to others joining Ingrid in the ranks of this ministry which has a massive impact on the lives of hundreds annually in Southwark and millions across the world.
