Some Definite Service.
The document, Some Definite Service, provided the vision for the new Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis (an abridged version can be found by clicking the link below). Inspired by the need to support parishes in a clear, direct and intentional manner, the vision highlights three main areas for the Agency’s work and three main ways in which this will be delivered.
The Agency will direct its efforts at the development and support of a volunteer structure, based around the areas of Evangelisation, Catechesis and Formation.
Each parish will be offered the opportunity to share their good works, their hopes and plans for growth in Evangelisation, Catechesis and Formation, with the Agency supporting their plans and celebrating and sharing the successes.
Where resources are readily available, these will be recommended. Where diocesan and external groups have the skills to support Evangelisation, Catechesis and Formation, the Agency will enter into partnership, and where resources are needed, these will be developed.
Each one of us has a part to play in the mission of the Church, and each one of us is called to grow in Faith and loving service of the Lord. These are challenging times but ripe with opportunity for the promotion of the Gospel and the building of God’s Kingdom.
