Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - Level 1, Part A in London

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) uses principles drawn from Montessori education to help children develop a deep and authentic relationship with God.

Formation for Level 1 Part A will consist of six days:

May 27, 28 and 29 2025 Tuesday to Thursday

October 27, 28 and 29 2025 Monday to Wednesday

at the Atrium of the Sacred Heart, Cabrini Community Campus Honor Oak Rd, London SE23 3LF

The Level I formation course prepares adults to offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd method to children aged 3-6. It is also the foundation course for those called to serve Level 2 (aged 6-9) and Level 3 (aged 9-12). The course will be delivered by Christine Byrne, a CGSUSA certified Formation leader. She will be assisted by Birgitte Carlsson and Montessori guide Zdenka Jerkovic.

The formation course for Level 1 is taken in two parts (A and B) and requires a minimum of 90 hours. This will include lectures, demonstrations on how to present the catechetical materials to children, practicum and material making. Your attendance for 3 days in May and 3 days in October will form Part A, 45 hours. A further six days will be needed to complete the course and receive certification.

The cost for each 3-day segment will be between £90-£120, total between £180-£220, depending on the number of participants. A deposit of £50 will be required when you register to secure your place.
