The Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis, the Cathedral parish at St George's Cathedral and the Southwark Archdiocese Catholic Charismatic Renewal Team are delighted to offer this wonderful opportunity for personal, parish and diocesan renewal.

The Life in the Spirit Seminars provide an opportunity to find out more about a life lived in the power of the Holy Spirit and
to take the first steps into a new relationship with Our Lord.

  • Five Tuesday[1] evening sessions: either in person (at St George's Cathedral or one of the "Hub" locations around the Archdiocese) or online.

  • In-person Retreat Day: at St George’s Cathedral on Pentecost Saturday, 18 May, joining with participants from around the diocese

More on the Life in the Spirit Seminars 2024

Baptism in the Spirit
Life in the Spirit Seminars include the opportunity for you to receive the “Baptism in the Spirit”, a fuller release of the Holy Spirit described by Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa as "a renewal of our Baptism [that allows] the Spirit to flow like a fragrance in the Christian life".

Life in the Spirit Seminars grew out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Since 2019, Pope Francis has been asking CHARIS International - the Catholic Church body which serves the worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal - to make the Baptism in the Spirit available around the world, to everyone in the Church.

The course guidebook
The daily Scripture-based reflections contained in the course guidebook, Finding New Life in the Spirit, are an integral part of the Life in the Spirit course. When you have registered, we will send you details of how you obtain a copy; it costs £6.99 plus delivery, but some of our Hubs are assisting with the purchase and/or the cost.

Life in the Spirit is free (in more senses than one!)
There is no charge for taking part in Life in the Spirit, but you will be given the opportunity to make a donation to help cover the costs of the course.

Further questions?
You will be sent more details after you register, but if have any questions we would be happy to answer them – email us at southwarkrenewal@gmail.com

Janet Iannicelli

She worked for 20 years in the City within Investment Banking Operations whilst attending charismatic London prayer groups and being a trustee for a Catholic Youth Mission for six years.

After praying for her vocation for just over 20 years, the Lord honoured Janet’s prayer and she married Mauro Iannicelli in July 2019. After discernment, she joined her husband Mauro in full-time ministry to support their online teaching platform: 'Come & See Catholic Evangelisation Ministries' and they are based in Stratford, London.
